Rob Lutes - Researcher, Writer, Editor
For the past 33 years, I have fulfilled researching, writing, blogging and editing contracts in a wide array of fields, including history, sports, film, shipping, education, IT, entertainment, healthcare and various other industries. I have also planned and implemented outreach campaigns for music recordings and documentary films, working with the creators and distributors to identify target markets and connect the product to its audience. This work has included extensive use of social media platforms and writing for the web. I have also worked as a ghostwriter and speechwriter for public figures including former U.S. President George H. W. Bush and former Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin. I also co-wrote a book commemorating the 25th anniversary of The Sports Network (TSN) for John Wiley Publishing.
Other clients have included EyeSteelFilm, Film Movement, ABC TV, Canada Steamship Lines, Ed Interactive Group, QuickSeries Publishing, The Sports Network (TSN), Readers Digest, Good Times Magazine/Senior Publication, National Film Board of Canada, Griffintown Media, Madison Press Books, BCA Publications, Martin Aboriginal Education Initiative, Cadence Health Care and MacLeod 9 Productions.
Between 2004 and 2008 I worked as a promotional marketing coordinator at the National Film Board of Canada. I was responsible for a wide array of film marketing tasks, including writing and editing descriptive texts and coordinating the creation of an array of promotional materials. This involved working closely with numerous filmmakers and producers as well as other NFB staff and staff of co-producers and funding agencies.
Prior to that, I was an editor, writer and researcher at St. Remy Media, a Montreal-based book packager creating content for a range of U.S. publishers. I worked closely with a number of major clients including Time-Life, Sunset Books, Discovery Channel, The Home Depot and International Masters Publishers. Our work environment was intensely client- and quality-focused and demanded the ability to work under the constraints of strict deadlines, limited budgets and a highly competitive marketplace.
