Newsletter, September 2019

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well and enjoyed the summer! This year I did a little touring and some family travel -  a couple weeks in Europe in August, which was a great little break.

I have a cool new album with my project Sussex now available for purchase at the STORE and a slate of Fall dates to let you know about. All the shows, including a return to the great Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in my home province of New Brunswick, are listed at my TOUR page.

Highlights also include a return to the National Arts Centre Fourth Stage in Ottawa on Thursday, October 24. My support that night will the super talented songwriter Mike McKenna Jr. It should be a great night. Tickets are here:

My next performance is an intimate solo show this coming Saturday, September 7 at the Quartier General du Vieux La Prairie just 15 minutes from downtown Montreal, a series started by my friend and former Radio Canada host Dan Behrman. Contact Dan for info or tickets HERE.

New Booking Agency

I am happy to announce that I have been picked up by a great booking agency for Canada and the U.S.
I Book Shows is run by Ryan and Jennifer Heerschap. I'm happy to be joining such a strong roster.

New SUSSEX Album THE OCEAN WIDE Now Available for Purchase

Finally, my project Sussex  has a new album coming out this week. It's called The Ocean Wide.

Sussex is a project I started with my friend Michael Emenau in 2015. Michael is a world class vibraphonist who also happened to be my best friend growing up in East Riverside, NB. We put  out a record called Parade Day in 2016 that did really well.

We made The Ocean Wide this past spring. It has a very cool eclectic feel to it, ranging across blues and folk and jazz and Americana and mixing genres in new ways. We had two fantastic horn players - Ivanhoe Jolicoeur on trumpet and flugelhorn and Bruno Lamarche on clarinet and saxophone - join us as guests on some songs as well. I really like it.  I wrote or co-wrote 12 of the songs.

To purchase a download or a CD, just visit the STORE at my site. Downloads are instant... mailed CDs will take a just a few days as I still send 'em to you by hand! I'm happy to sign the CD if you'd like.

You can stream the title track here:

Or see a pre-release video here:

All my upcoming dates are easily viewable here: UPCOMING DATES

That's about it for now.

As always, be well and stay in touch.
