On his seventh album coming out on September 8, acclaimed songwriter Rob Lutes does what he has done for years: kicks up a little dust, wades into some deep waters and tackles the realities of the world with wisdom and humour and some mean guitar work.

Situated at the intersection of the blues, folk, Americana and contemporary singer-songwriter genres, Walk in the Dark is an exquisite collection of songs that highlight Lutes’ unmistakable voice and literary writing style. Co-produced by celebrated Quebec-based engineer Rob Heaney, the album features a group of Montreal's finest musicians starting with longtime collaborator, guitarist Rob MacDonald, and including Bob Stagg, Mark Nelson, Andrew Horton, Josephine Von Soukonnov, Rob Fahie and Josh Zubot and some special guests, the noted artists Guy Belanger, Joe Grass and Ian Kelly.

Since his first release, Gravity, in 2000, Rob Lutes has been steadily building a collection of moving meditations on life and love. A long-time Montreal resident who originally hails from the town of East Riverside, New Brunswick, Lutes has built a solid reputation thanks to his impassioned live performances and the superb quality of his songs. He is a former Kerrville and ISC winner and a Maple Blues, CFMA and Lys Blues nominee. Lutes’ previous studio release, 2013's widely acclaimed The Bravest Birds, hit number 1 on the EuroAmericana Chart and spent six months in the Roots Music Report's Canadian Top 10.

He will tour the new album across Canada, and bring these songs to Europe and the US.
